Hacettepe University, Education of Students with Intellectual Disabilities Program is committed to helping individuals with intellectual impairments in early childhood through adulthood to reach to their full developmental potential. Our program that offers a speciality degree in the area of teaching students with intellectual disabilities, provides students with evidence-based knowledge, integrated technology approach, and extensive teaching experience in various educational settings. This program also provides with a firm grounding and a strong knowledge base in the area of teaching students with mild to severe intellectual impairments and multiple disabilities. Through evidence-based coursework, field placements, and mentorships in the field, our teacher candidates become exceptional teachers who are able to develop individualized programs and adapt instruction and developmental activities to address students’ individual educational needs. Our students also have the opportunity to work closely with our faculty members in various research studies, and observe clinical assessments and instructional practices.
